Advanced Degree and Undergraduate Students

We hope you’ll find out a lot about us on these pages: how we work, but not enthralled by it; why the stability and security that we’ve enjoyed for so long is thanks to a willingness to change; how we intend to grow in the SME services sector across the globe and how you can play a key role in this transformation of SME business to a profitability, stability and secured growth. , why, after finishing your graduate scheme, you’ll never stop learning; how quality of work is as important as quantity; how entrepreneurial flair and individual talent flourish best in an atmosphere of respect and teamwork; and how, wherever you are right now, and whatever you want from your career. We invest a lot of time, care and resource to our placement programs. To us, they represent nothing less than our long-term success. They're an opportunity for you to find out about us, and vice versa. It's also a chance to gain some real work experience. Our philosophy is this: if you're good enough to succeed in our application process, then you're good enough to assume responsibility. Could there be a better way of meeting your future colleagues than working next to them on a placement? You can count on them to show you around and show you the ropes. After all, they recognize potential when they meet it. An internship should be like a dialogue; your chance to talk to us, and our chance to talk to you. And it's not just about the work. The social side of things has always been important to us, and through some organized events and relationships you forge yourself, you'll be able to build a vital network of colleagues and friends for the future. Our full time opportunities are generally aimed at final-year students for undergraduates and graduates undertaking an MBA/ Advanced degree.

Full-time opportunities for MBAs

The very fact that you're studying towards an MBA means that you're already in an enviable position when it comes to choosing your career. You already have the intelligence, maturity and, very likely, many of the theoretical skills that we look for. And there's a very good chance that, whether through friends or your academic studies, you know a fair bit about investment banking.

You can go to on-campus events to ask more probing questions, and, for the real deal, you should seriously think about taking advantage of a summer internship.

So we know that you're bright. But you'll also need to convince us of your other skills - your ability to build relationships with clients and senior managements, your potential for leadership and your confidence. What is certain, though, is that with the skills you already have, you should be able to thrive at perhaps the world's greatest investment bank. As an MBA, you'll enjoy an accelerated career trajectory that starts as an analyst/associate. After that, you can go as far as you want.

The Recruitment Process

Of course, recruitment is a two-way process. You need to decide whether we're right for you. So if you are interested, please read about our interview process and check our online campus schedule (or see your campus career office) to see when we plan to visit your school. Our campus events are well worth going to. They're your chance to talk to the people who work here, get a taste of our culture and discuss your own ambitions. You'll also discover in more depth the background, skills and aptitudes each business area requires. Strong quantitative skills are essential (you should have those already). However, we interview all students who show a real interest, whatever their background. Full-time opportunities for undergraduates

It won't be long before you graduate. And before you do, you're going to have to make some important decisions about your long-term career aspirations. But the chance to keep learning, to stretch yourself, make new friendships and even have fun needn't end on graduation day. Not if you opt for a career with us. Of course, investment banking is a complex industry. Rewarding certainly, but not to be taken lightly. So before you go any further, you need to ask yourself whether investment banking is right for you. It's often hard work, and you'll face new challenges every single day. So you need to consider whether or not you've got the personality to not just cope, but to thrive. But if you answer in the affirmative to those two questions, then we're sure that ALCOR will be just what you're looking for. You can go to on-campus events to ask more probing questions, and, for the real deal, you should seriously think about taking advantage of a summer internship. So once you've made your mind up, what do we look for? Clients, reputation and future success all demand that we only take the very best graduates. Not just academically bright, but articulate, hardworking and independent-minded graduates. Neither do you need to be a mathematical genius or an expert in economics. And personality is important. Dealing with clients and working with senior management means that the ability to build strong relationships is vital.

The Recruitment Process

If you're interested in becoming an analyst with us, read about our interview process and look at our online campus schedule (or visit your campus career office). Our bankers and recruiters normally visit campuses to give presentations, answer questions and interview graduating seniors for full-time analyst positions that start the following summer.
